Strong Nylon Strap Supports Both LitesRubber Coated Steel "Foot" Prevents ShearLifting insulating glass units with vacuum cups on only one side of the unit means that the lite of glass on the other side is supported solely by the edge sealant used to produce the unit. To reduce the amount of shear force while lifting in this manner, simply employ a pair of CRL Wood's Insulating Glass Anti-Shear Supports. When used with vacuum lifting frames, attach a pair of the supports to the bottom of the unit for vertical lifts. If rotating the unit, attached at 90 degrees as shown in the diagram above for support in both directions.CRL Wood's Insulating Glass Shear Supports can also be used when lifting I.G. units by hand to provide the same safety as when used with vacuum lifting frames. Just thread the straps of each of the supports together so the insulating glass unit is held together, top and bottom as shown in the diagram above. Attach two or more vacuum cups to the front light. The unit can then be lifted securely.
Akfix 100E is an acid-curing, one-component silicone sealant for a range of general sealing and glazing applications. It provides a strong adhesion and suitable for use on common non-porous building materials. APPLICATION AREAS General sealing and glazing applications Sealing around windows and doors for insulation and gap filling. Sealing in DIY applications On bathroom, kitchen and plumbing applications. Connection and expansion joints on glass, porcelain, steel etc. Sealing electric, telephone etc. sockets and switches. INSTRUCTIONS Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and grease free. The application temperature must be between +5 °C and +40 °C. In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, minimum dimensions are 5x5 mm, for wider joints the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of a backup material. After the application, the sealant must be tooled with light pressure within 5 minutes to spread the material against the joint surfaces and to obtain a professional finish. Excess uncured sealant may be cleaned with solvent. Cured sealant can be removed mechanically. RESTRICTIONS Not recommended to use on porous surfaces like marble, natural stone, concrete etc. Because of acidic curing, it must not be used on mirrors and sensitive metals like copper, brazen, lead. It is not paintable. It is not suitable for aquariums. If exposed to direct sunlight, sealant gets yellowish because of the anti mold property. Sealant needs moisture for curing therefore it shouldn’t be applied in completely closed places.
