There are a few ways to keep precious produce from completely frying before the season concludes. First, water your garden in early morning. Give highest priority to newly planted trees, shrubs, vegetable and fruit plants and perennials. Use soaker hose instead of water sprinkler. Place 3 to 6 inches of mulch around soaker hoses, amongst plants and in pots. Move the pots in shaded and cool place. Cover plants that are in direct sunlight with garden fabric. Use barrels to harvest rainwaters.
