Composting & Yard Care Alternatives That Can Be Easily Practiced At Home
June 15th, 2012 | Posted by in Organic HomeYou can save a lot of money by composting organic waste in your backyard and making a few simple changes in your landscaping. Grass cycling and natural landscaping can be adopted to conserve resources and save you time and money on yard care. You can make nutrient-rich compost from the composting organic material such as kitchen, garden and yard waste. The compost pile will be ready for the garden in two to 12 months. A compost pile must be able to produce heat for faster decay. Water the pile to moisten, but do not over water. Cover the pile with the lid of the compost bin to keep animals and rainwater affecting it. Check your compost pile frequently to ensure it stays moist. You can decrease dependence on chemical fertilizers once your organic compost is prepared. Use compost and mulch to build up the soil because they add nutrients and organic material to the soil.
