She gave several tips to a healthier family and a healthy garden. She suggested the usage of raised beds that can be suitable and if you do container planting that potted soil is best. You should choose the plants before farming as some plants could not grow with other plants while other plants only grow at certain times. Nolan explains that Radishes, peas, lettuce, and carrots are good for spring planting; tomatoes and peppers are good for the summer; and garlic in the winter. Nolan enlightens an important point that plants need room to grow. She encouraged the audience to utilize organic pesticides like using hot pepper or garlic to keep the critters at bay.
