Toxins in Canned Foods
February 2nd, 2012 | Posted by in Eco-FriendlyPeople were scared of drinking water stored in plastic bottles but new studies have shown that there is an increase in the amount of Bisphenol A (BPA), a hormone-reducing toxin linked to health problems including heart disease, diabetes and obesity, in the body of persons who eat foods stored in cans. Urine samples of people who consumed one serving of canned soup for five days were found to contain a higher percentage of BPA over those who consumed fresh soup. BPA is used in the linings of metal food and beverage cans and in certain plastic bottles and dental sealants find their way into the body of consumers and this may be a matter of great concern.
