United State’s Top 10 Eco-Friendly Cities

According to the Urban Land Institute, San Francisco metropolitan area has the lowest greenhouse gas pollution per capita of any large municipality in the U.S., with New York City and Philadelphia following behind. Texas: Houston, Austin, Dallas and Washington D.C. have purchased the largest amount of green power as an alternative to fossil fuel generated power. Los Angeles, Washington D.C and Atlanta, Georgia have most number of Energy Star Certified buildings from 2008 to 2011. The top 10 eco-friendly cities from the above categories are, in no particular order: New York City, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
