Vrindaban Garden Inspires Sustainable Living
February 7th, 2012 | Posted by in Eco-Friendly | Organic Farming | Organic GardeningA New Vrindaban devotee's efforts at organic gardening has inspired the local community in Wheeling, West Virginia to support sustainability, eat local produce and improving spiritual motives. His focus on "creating a connection between spirituality and sustainability" has driven him to establishing a charity called 'The Small Farm Training Centre' which has an apprenticeship farming program involving about eight to fourteen college students. The gardens are donating vegetables to six soup kitchens for over thirty times a year. Teaming up with local gardeners to boost donations, they have planted seven gardens in vacant lots and industrial zones in a project termed "Green Wheeling Initiative".
